Divers uncover an old shipwreck 150 feet beneath the ocean in April 1900, about 230 feet off the coast of the little island of Antikythera.
Over the next two years, objects from the wreckage are unearthed, including the remains of a coral-incrusted metal box dating from the second century BC.
It is the earliest mechanical computer yet discovered, predating similar items by 1500 years.
So you’ve got this tiny box with dozens of cogwheels inside. It has also been established that the analog computer was used to forecast astronomical phenomena.
As a result, it was the first computer ever built by humans.
The American experts examining the Antikythera device have stated that uncovering the Antikythera gadget is akin to discovering a jet plane in King Tut’s tomb.
It was incredible to them. They had never imagined that the ancient Greeks would have known about mechanical gadgets like this in 200 BC.
That has fundamentally altered our perception of ancient history.
While excavation teams have yet to pinpoint the exact provenance of the ship on which the Antikythera mechanism was discovered, the island of Rhodes is the leading possibility. According to certain contemporary reports, Rhodes was previously home to what would be called sophisticated technology by today’s standards.
The poet Pindar stated in the fifth century BC that Rhodes was once adorned with statues that came to life like living and moving beings.
He wrote that they suddenly came to life. So the issue becomes if you have a dead object at first, and then suddenly, someone pours life into something, could it be that we have references to some form of machine?
Where did the inhabitants of Rhodes learn how to make these moving statues 2,500 years ago?
That’s exactly what Pindar said, in my opinion. That is, they received it from the gods.
So, who exactly are these gods? The gods are human beings. They are extraterrestrials who brought this technology to humanity and shared it with us.
And now, when we look at the Antikythera mechanism, there’s something you can hold in your hands that indicates they had the capability to execute advanced machine work at least 1,500 years ago.
The point is, technology does exist. And from a technology like that, the path to robotics isn’t too far away.
And extraterrestrials might have had the capability at the time. If you take this legend at its face value.
