New evidence suggests that ancient civilizations built elaborate cities at the South Pole. We explored Antarctica’s pyramids last month.
An oval-shaped structure and the possibility that it was created artificially, maybe as evidence of an ancient civilization in Antarctica.
The object in question measures 120 meters (400 feet) in diameter and is located in Eastern Antarctica. The shape “resembles something that someone could readily design.”
“What if, in the distant past, when Earth – especially Antarctica – was very different from what it is today, an ancient society evolved there, constructing beautiful structures, monuments, and temples?” In their piece, Ancient Code questions, “Would we find evidence of their existence today?”
The problem is that there have never been suitable living circumstances for humans in Antarctica. Long before Homo sapiens arose, it was covered with ice. The frozen continent is unfriendly to us, and we must rely on the most advanced technology to keep scientists (and the rare tourist) safe there.
“Antarctica has been totally covered in ice for 15 million years, however it has been very icy for around 23 million years,” revealed IFLScience resident geologist Dr. Robin Andrews.
There is much we don’t know about our past, and humans have always been inventive in solving problems, so archeology is a beautiful and frequently surprising discipline. However, extraordinary claims necessitate extraordinary evidence.
Yes, you can believe anything based on a satellite image, but some questions must be answered. If it was built by an ancient culture, how did they do it? It’s neither easy nor glamorous to mine in a frozen dessert. What did they do to keep the place warm? There are no trees to be burned, and I don’t think a penguin bonfire is very efficient. And, most significantly, why did they build it there, distant from natural resources, in the worst environment on the planet?
If a person can discover reasonable answers to those questions, he or she can build a case. Until then, we should presume that strange geological formations are simply that: strange geological formations.
