Peru has dozens of archeological sites that have been discovered over the course of time, but none are more visually perplexing than the mysterious steps of Ollantaytambo. According to experts, these were seemingly built by the Incas and are around 2,792 meters above sea level. After further research though it was concluded that there was no way that the Incan civilization could have built this by manual labor, as the technology needed to actually create such a behemoth of construction was nowhere near available at the time of its supposed making.
Ollantaytambo was supposedly the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti during the Inca Empire’s reign, and it was actually made as a result of conquest. During the Spanish conquest, the Inca supposedly used it as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui, the leader of the Inca resistance, and because of how well built it was it offered just enough strategical defense for the Incan civilization to take this win.
A lot of speculations arose upon the discovery of these steps, some have stated that this is clear proof of alien beings since there was no way they’d make this themselves at the time while others have gone as far as to state that these steps were not made for humans to walk on, but for other creatures that supposedly led the human race in ancient times. There are plenty of books that contest these theories, mainly the ones speaking of the Incan conquests, but alas, theories will always come up when researching such monumental discoveries.
