Ever thought about the possibility that Giza’s Great Sphinx could actually be a large lion, or a dog?
Many ancient books mention lions, and many ancient civilizations believed that lions were great gods. This theory matches Sphinx quite well in terms identity, purpose, age.
The Sphinx was first discovered in 1897. Since then, it has been considered a guardian for the dead.
The head of the Sphinx is a human-shaped, but its dimensions and shape are completely out of scale. Another legend says that the Sphinx is a dog and was depicted as Anubis.
Simultaneously the Sphinx might have been facing Sirius. This is a well-considered possibility because of the mythology and belief that humans were once visited by gods in that constellation.
Anthony West is the one that came up with the idea that the Sphinx was a lion. West suggested that the Sphinx could be much older than previously believed.
Recent discoveries have shown that the Sphinx was once surrounded by a lake. It appears that the lake was hidden in order not to reveal the Sphinx’s true age or identity.
