For the longest of time now we’ve always considered the Great Sphinx of Giza and the Great Pyramids to be some of the most incredible ancient discoveries of all time, and for good reason too. We have no reason to bash these discoveries as they are impressive in their own way but what we will say however is that there are far older and more interesting ruins out there.
You might be thinking about Stonehenge or the ancient Mayan pyramids right off the bat and sure, you’re right that these are older but they are not the oldest either.
That title goes to the Gobekli Tepe temple from Turkey. This is a 12,000-year-old temple that is so massive that we have yet to uncover a great majority of its artifacts because of how deep it is hidden underground.
But it is not the only one of its kind, as plenty of other ruins have been discovered to this day that is even older than the Gobekli Tepe temple. So, why aren’t we mentioning them all that much? Because they are nameless.
That’s right, we have absolutely no idea who built these nor do we know when they were built. All that we know is that they are far older than anything else we’ve ever encountered on our planet.
