Back in July experts have actually come across three massive holes in the Yamal Peninsula from the northern side of Siberia.
At first, they thought they were just normal holes in the ground but as soon as they got there, they spotted that four more craters had formed up in the process.
After more time passed, the leading member of the team Professor Vasily Bogoyavlensky reported the fact that at least 20 to 30 more could be forming up around the place so we need to effectively evacuate the people around.
He did state that this isn’t a life or death scenario as of yet and that we need to evacuate everyone peacefully before it does become that.
He discussed this with the Siberian Times, stating that these holes are continuously forming up because of the gas explosions that are triggered underground by the rising air temperatures that we have observed over the years that we refer to as climate change and global warming.
Dr. Carolyn Ruppe, the main research geophysicist from the Woods Hole Field Center from Massachusetts has stated that ore and more of these holes will be discovered and that we need to get everyone away before one such hole opens up underneath someone’s house causing a tragedy to happen.
Hopefully, the team will be able to save everyone and fix the problem before it gets deadly.
