This area is home to the world’s biggest astronomical alignment. In 1974, Fred Wendorf, an anthropological expert from Texas, and a team of researchers uncovered these interesting ruins near Nabta Playa.
This group uncovered numerous megalithic monuments in the area, many of which were buried in the sand. The oldest pottery remnants known in Africa were unearthed in the same location. This celestial alignment, made up of thousands of megalithic monuments, is incredibly precise.
The distances between these monuments and their placement are perfectly coordinated with specific stars. The Nubians of East Africa are known throughout history as among the planet’s first and most advanced astronomers.
